Thanks -good idea, will try local papers.
My wife is really keen on a bedside cot and not an ordinary cot. She has spoken to others who have said very positive things about it. She likes the idea of being so close to the baby but not in the bed.
I am just going along with what she thinks!
Fortunately, a relative has promised us a new mattress!
So i am not worried about that.
Will keep looking - got to find something in the next few weeks.0 -
You could get in touch with your local NCT group and ask if anyone wants to sell/rent/lend a cot - sometimes they also have nearly-new sales of baby things.

I have put a wanted post on ukparents.com
Seems a really good website - didn't know about it!
Thanks
I have tried ebay before and found that i always get outbidded and others seem to be prepared to pay quite a bit for a bedside cot- But thanks for the suggestion0 -
There used to be good shops for second hand kids stuff in Guildford and surrounding areas. Worth a few phone calls, I would have thought, if you can find them in Yellow Pages or on the web.
Also recommend NCT sales, usually classy stuff there!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
what type of bed do you have?
one suggestion I have seen - possibly on ukparents
is to buy a normal cot bed as then you are able to construct and leave one side off
you then use webbing or bungies between the slabbted base of the cot bed and your bed to firmly and safely attach to prevnt movement
most cot beds have at least three base positions so if you go and look at some and measure levels and know your mattress level you will get an idea
I would guess looking at our pine bed and our cot bed that it would not be too difficult to doBaby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -
Zain, Have you tried Mum and Me in Teddington or Yummy Tots in St Margarets? Mum and Me certainly regularly has some of the bigger equipment.
You could also try putting a wanted notice on the Buy and Sell boards on https://www.netmums.com/kingston or https://www.netmums.com/richmond as they are local.0
