then do I just pop in my sim card and start to use it, or do I need it to be 'tweaked' so that I can access everything?
I really want to buy a sony ericsson K770i phone on orange PAYG but I cannot find any available. Thanks

Yes it will be ready to go. Though to use MMS and data services you may have to get the network settings from your provider.

Can I ask how you get the netwrok settings from the provider (who you want to use? i.e. for OP from Orange)?
In other words can you access them through the phone after putting the desired sim in, or do you go to Orange shop?
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

Easiest will be to ring their cs (tech dept) and they usually can send the settings direct to the phone.

    welcome to Setup

By using Setup, you can send service settings to your phone for wap, GPRS and Photo Messaging. You'll also be able to set up your phone or your phone with your laptop or PDA to send and receive ISP email on the move.

Thanks for all of your replies. To be honest I only intend to use the phone for calls, texting, camera and mp3 player, as I don't usually bother with the internet services on it, so it looks like I will be able to just pop in my existing sim card ang go (hopefully).:D
