I had another call today. This time I answered the phone and it was a recorded message saying "this is Ben from DHL. I am calling to arrange delivery of your radio. Please ring me back on 07012 etc"
I reported the last one to TPS and they said they could take no action.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

As mentioned earlier these people give you a missed call, and are expecting you to call back thinking it's a mobile number, AFAIK all mobile numbers start with the numbers 077, 078 and 079 all other numbers are not mobile numbers.Nearly debt free

You are correct Mr Green. Numbers starting 070 are 'find me anywhere' numbers that are not attached to a specific device and they are charged at a different and higher tariff than calls to the general mobile 077 078 079 range.0 -

I suggest that you call DHL directly and tell them about the call you have received from their Ben. If it isn't authentic I'm sure they'll be interested in the fact that somebody is calling people purporting to be from their company when they are not. They will certainly seek to prevent it happening I'm sure.0 -
If you have the whole number, you could do a search to find the provider of the number and call them to suggest that if they continue to provide to this client, they may be accessory to sharp practice like fraud and passing off. Or get to someone reasonably high up in DHL and suggest they do it, as Steve hints.

Also Trading Standards, ICSTIS, Ofcom etc. But some will pass the buck - when similar fraudsters sent postcards around at Xmas, inviting people to call an 090 number, ICSTIS were mainly interested in the call charges being correctly presented in the minute print at the bottom and did not reckon they could proceed if they were correct, but would send the info on elsewhere, useful as the perpetrators of this one had already been prosecuted by Trading Standards etc.
The radio idea seems to be common to that one; maybe it's the same idiots again.0 -

No don't call them, someone else has already posted a warning somewhere on one of the boards here about a scam involving messages left supposedly from DHL.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I'm not wasting any money calling anyone!! I've emailed DHL to give them the information. Trouble is I'm not sure of the full number. As I answered the phone I didn't have a pen to hand so I tried to remember it. The only part I'm sure of is 07012 9??????.

0702401443_ (reserved last digit)
I think this number may be a con as It is in an advert for a Caravan that sounds very cheap as it is almost new & several thousand pounds cheaper than new
http://www.ukclassifiedads.co.uk/ I tried to call & it sounded like an International call to me! if the advert is genuine I do apologise.0 -
