Paypal account Limited

I had my paypal account limited not sure why

Anyway I verified my bank account and credit card, sent them proof of ID, explanations of why and what I sell etc

Got a email back today to say they have review my limitation and Unfortunately, we have determined that we are no longer able to offer the use of our services to you. OK FAIR ENOUGH

In accordance with PayPals User Agreement, the balance of your PayPal
account will be held for 180 days to protect PayPal against the risk of
reversal stemming from buyer claims, chargebacks, or other reversal rights
that may have been assigned to a consumer outside of PayPal and eBays
policies. After the180-day period has passed, any remaining funds will be
available to you for withdrawal, less any additional amounts owed to PayPal or eBay.

So they have money for 2 items I sold they are going to hold it for 6 months! Can they legally do this?

Ask them. If they dont give you specifics ask them what you need to do to unlimit it.

They told me what to do to unlimit it, so I did but after this they still refused to lift the limit

PS for anyone else reading another post, I actually mean my husbands paypal (but i basically dealt with it for him)

Be pro active here, telephone them and email to confirm what you said in your telephone call. You need to know what is is that you have alledgedly done.

It is often something seemingly quite minor. For instance there was one on the community boards that lost their paypal account bcause they had started to refund buyers when they got the 21 day hold notice. Paypal took that as misuse of the system and banned him. I can't link to the thread because it was up and commented on very briefly before being pulled by the ebay mods. I just remembered it though as I recall on another thread you mentioned refunding a buyer and it rang a bell.

A friend of a colleague at work was suspended because she had really got into the worn shoes malarky and got a bit carried away and stopped being subtle about it, they decided that was against their adult policy (which I have struggled to find). They take a lot of persuasion though to come clean and explain what they think you have done.

If the account is his name then he'll have to do the phoning and harrassing, I'd certainly keep digging at this until you get a real answer.

    hi there

sorry that this has happened to you i know how frustrating it is as this is the exact same thing the idiots over at paypal done to me in jan this year

i did everything they asked and got the same reply you did
"sorry your buisness is a risk blah blah blah"

excuse my french but total carp this is an excuse to hold your funds for 180 days and make interest off it even though they will tell you till you are blue in the face that they do not make any interest off frozen funds

    any how few questions

    do you have 100% feedback
have you had any paypal disputes

    PayPal's Office of Executive Escalations
    ppelce@paypal.co.uk

bombard this email address demanding your funds be released or court action will be taken

worked for me last year/ begining of this year when they held £600 and a "£100 payment sent of mine

this was after 2 weeks on the phone a few emails to the above address worked a treat ;)

i kept my grounds said i had 100% feedback on ebay no buyer complaints so how could my buissness be a risk, and the laughable thing was i was not a business i was merly selling on my old junk.
in the end i tore apart there t&c threatened that if my funds were not released within 48hrs legal action would be taken agains them for holding my funds with no good cause

i wil trawl through my old emails to see if i still have it and pm it to you

you are going to feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall and want to throttle someone but you will get there and it will not be 180 day wait
