I know we all like a bargain (otherwise we wouldnt be on here) but i do think its a bit sad you can get flights for 1p, 10p etc. In this day and age with money being tight, the recession and lots of companies going bust id sooner pay a fair price for a fare and know that companies stay in business, people keep their jobs etc. Im all for healthy competition buts its ridiculous when you've got 3 airlines going out of the same airport within hours of each other and a lot of the time the amount of passengers would fill 1 plane ie EMA to ALC ryanair, easyjet and bmi its just silly.
  • Hi, I am a total newbie both to the forum and to finding reduced price or free flights. The problem is that I am no longer resident in the UK, and although there are online sites that do allow one to access cheaper flights, what I would like to find out is whether the companies such as Ryanair, EasyJet and so on actually extend similar offers elsewhere within Europe? Obviously it is not much use to me if the outgoing airports are all in the UK, but as I say, the offers seem very much less attractive than those I have seen on equivalent UK based sites. That really does not seem at all fair, given that we are supposed to all be EEC residents.

Incidentally I am trying to find the cheapest possible flights between Alicante/Madrid and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. When I have managed to obtain very cheap flights, at checkout a 6€ flight from Alicante to Madrid suddenly shoots up to nearly 100€ on the outgoing flight, whereas the return flight remains the same price, more or less....and being also in Spanish makes things even more complicated, even though I speak the language fairly fluently. I have been trying to employ the tips I have found here in order to avoid such charges being levied at the last minute, but it seems impossible to avoid, as some proportion of the charges is airport tax. I would really appreciate any help anyone here might be able to offer me, sincerely. Thank you in advance, David L
