  • I got one of the South African phones so it has predictive bobbins should I want it.

Anyway, I've got a dinky wee phone with £5 of credit for a tenner.

HOWEVER - it doesn't have a camera, and it doesn't have a music player, I can't get Channel 5 on it, and it won't convert into a hovercraft. I'm appalled! I demand compensation!!!!

Received phone this morning having read all the horror stories. When I finally managed to get the battery compartment off, I installed the sim and battery and it all worked.
I had to use a rubber glove to get the back off.

Yes, you are right. However a condition of buying the phone was buying £5 credit which I didn't want or need, so I spent £10. Prepaymania have taken themselves off Topcashback so who knows if they will pay the cashback. Sounds like there may be warranty problems too.

There won't be warranty problems if the phone doesn't break! And you can always use up the fiver - oh I don't know - making phonecalls!

One odd thing, though - there were a couple of strange texts from T Mobile - one saying I had two free texts, another saying I'd run out of time for these, and then another saying I had a month's free texts. Did anyone get the same?

    He he he,

You won't get a response from moonpig - he's busy filling in the online county court forms.......................:rotfl:
  • Have received the phone this morning. Very pleased with it. £5.00 credit with unlimited text for a month to any net work.
    Predictive text is English.
Would be a result if they honour Topcashback ,will let you know.
Bargain even if they do not honour it.

Yep, received my two phones too. I am very pleased with them - one has said free texts to any network for a month, and I am awaiting the other one to bleep the same. I am also pleased to see they are unlocked. The phone is well easy to use too. Like others have said, good deal for a fiver even if I don't get the cashback. Well spotted OP.

Your local Nokia Service Centre can flash UK firmware to it, effectively making it a UK phone.

    Problem solved.

Tried this today. The Nokia Service Point won't touch it unless I want to fork out £40. It's not covered by the manufacturer's warranty as it's not a UK model. Oh well.

I'm not moaning, gazwood - Just correcting the poster. You've actually spent more time taking the Mikhail and moaning than I have. I'm not even sure whether you've bought a handset.

I've got a home for the phones regardless, so I'm not bothered, however I wouldn't want a fellow money saver to purchase a phone (or take a trip into town) on the basis of Jammin's incorrect but well intentioned post. Simples. :)

You weren't correcting me. The information I gave you was correct - just as you later confirmed:

Did I say it would be free?
