  • Look again, my car is due for a service in December, its second this year. I will use the excuse of the EEC Rip Off Economy to tell Ford what he can do with charging me for anotehr Oil Filter. IT SHOUL LAST TWO YEARS

Thanks for the constructive comment. To the others that have nothing else to do but post abuse and perpetuate negativity perhaps you need to spend less time posting and get out more

Unfortunately, because of people like you who can't be bothered to use the search facility before posting, we have to read endless tedious threads about the 'secret EU law giving us two year warranties' and how we are being ripped off.

Those of us who loiter in this forum and try to offer a bit of constructive advice regarding consumer law now and then are getting a bit fed up with people cutting and pasting Daily Mail articles which (like most Daily Mail articles) are just plain wrong.

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post in but I wanted to ask if members and/or Martin could start a campaign to push for equality for the UK as far as warranty of goods is concerned. In particular the electrical goods sold in UK usualy have a maximum of 1 year warranty wheres the same goods, often the exact same model are sold in many of the other European countries with a standard two year warranty, and in many cases cheaper. Why should manufacturers of the same goods get away with half the normal warranty they provide to most other European countries?

You're confusing the manufacturers' warranty with the consumer protection offered under law. Manufacturers' warranties are IN ADDITION to your rights under consumer law (e.g., your rights under the Sale of Goods Act). Far as I'm aware, manufacturers have no legal obligation to offer any warranty at all.
  • That's because they do there research unlike you

Very easy to google it's a shame some people cant be taught to do so, or is it just a case of being lazy?
