Not sure if this is the correct forum to post in but I wanted to ask if members and/or Martin could start a campaign to push for equality for the UK as far as warranty of goods is concerned. In particular the electrical goods sold in UK usualy have a maximum of 1 year warranty wheres the same goods, often the exact same model are sold in many of the other European countries with a standard two year warranty, and in many cases cheaper. Why should manufacturers of the same goods get away with half the normal warranty they provide to most other European countries?

because they can.
i do agree though, seeing as the EEC was set up for equal trade throughout europe. the EU parliament should certainly do something about it so maybe a petition to our MEP's would do something.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Here we go again...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

How about someone makes a sticky topic regarding the EU directive (oh, no wait...the "Secret EU law that gives you a two year manufacturer's guarantee"
) which should stop people going on about it?
Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
But people still wouldn't read it. After all, the daily fail article about the sooper sekrit EU law already told them everything they need to know about consumer law.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0

Thanks for the constructive comment. To the others that have nothing else to do but post abuse and perpetuate negativity perhaps you need to spend less time posting and get out more :rolleyes:0
