Well to make sure in IE7, go to Tools->Clear Browsing History
In IE8 its Safety->Delete Browsing History
In either case, you want to clear EVERYTHING by selecting the checkbox that appears when you do the above - once done, close IE and restart and try yahoo again.
For Firefox - its simple
Download Firefox from https://www.firefox.com
You have IE and it will prompt to say do you want to run the downloaded file - say yes.
Firefox will install in a minute.
Run firefox from your start menu or the new desktop icon which will appear.0 -

Yes, I did that then OneADay.
I've now downloaded firefox and will go into yahoo.com now so fingers crossed.
I've hopefully transferred all bookmarks ect correctly, but customised a restore session earlier, so if things go wrong, I can just restore. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
I think it's sorted now
Thank you everyone. I've managed to get into yahoo and read some of the messages without it shutting down :T
Another question if I may. What damage has the trojan likely to have done at all? There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Is IE working now or is it Firefox>
If IE is still not fixed, then that suggests you might have something lurking on your disk - try running spyblaster (I know its like other things you have tried) http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Trojans vary in what they can - usually can be fixed - just keep an eye out and get paid for internet security program - kaspersky is what I am using (get it cheap on ebay).
Also uninstall any addons like toolbars etc.
Have a read of this http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html
Run Hijackthis and it will pick up anything the other spy stuff has not already.0 -

I'm in firefox OneADay.
I will run spyblaster. So if there is a problem, hopefully all the steps I've taken will have helped sort it.
I have McAfee and was looking to upgrade. Not sure now, after what I've been reading these last 24 hours.
Interesting about the addons, as the google toolbar was causing problems last night and I had to uninstall. There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Personally, I recommend that you continue to use Firefox. Prob worth keeping IE installed, but try to get in the habit of using FF. It is more stable and less susceptible to viruses.

Try this handy little service. I've used it a few times when I couldn't get into yahoo mail by normal means.
