eBay Listing Removed - But Amazon Sell It

I've just had a DVD listing removed from eBay that I bought from Amazon. Do eBay and Amazon have different "rules"? It was bought from Amazon, not a seller on there (It even says: Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.).

Not sure I quite understand either, the companies are not conencted with each other

Ebay and Amazon are not the same company so yes what can be sold on one venue cannot necessarily be sold on the other.

For instance Amazon allow quite a lot of what people would consider soft !!!!!!, ebay do not. Ebay would also prohibit me from selling say something i had bought in a legitimate high street shop like Ann Summers, yet I have broken no law in buying it

    Is that what you mean?

My cousin got an Ann Summers bra removed for breaching their adult policy..she had 'talked it up' a bit but it was basically no more adult than any other bra you could buy from somewhere like Marks and Sparks.

I also got a video removed for being in breach of adult rules, it was a 15 rated Dirty Dancing. I have also had goth open lace gloves removed for the same reason. I'm obviously a pervert and didn't even realise it.

Obviously cases of someone else reporting them - as I'm currently experiencing, they don't actually check out the listings that are reported, they just hit the button to de-list them. Very annoying.
You ARE allowed to sell bras, whether new or used, but knickers must be new.
As for the other two items - someone being a bit trigger happy with the report button I guess :(

I argued the gloves and they gave in but they refused to give in on the Dirty Dancing video as they said the rating assumed some adult scenes which were against section xx of their xx policy. It was only rated 15 in the UK and they made me feel like I was selling hard stuff!

Their adult policy is often one of the most rigourously policed in the UK yet in the US they have a separate log in for adult items where you need age verification, but is not available for all States.

So, are you not allowed to sell 18 films in , for example, the horror genre? I did not know that?

Apologies to the OP for drifting slightly off-topic.

The whole area is a bit grey to be honest, but their adult policy appears to only really apply to 'sex' type stuff. They have reams of policy about adult items, dozens of pages of rules and regulations but don't seem to worry about horror or macabre things at all.

Adults Only eBay does not permit the listing of erotica or sexually oriented materials.
