Problem With A Buyer

Hi
I sell a large volume of goods every week on eBay as a Business Seller and occasionally encounter problems like this:
I have had a buyer purchase a DVD. I packaged up the disc on the day they paid and posted out to them, first class. The very day they should have received the item, I get a message stating the item hasn't turned up yet (two days after purchase). I ask them to wait. Every day since, they have emailed me with the same thing, 'STILL NO ITEM'.
Now, the item may have been lost in the post, but I'm concerned for two reasons:
1. The description stated that the Buy-It-Now was for the disc and sleeve only. I fear they haven't read the description, received the goods, are annoyed and thus would rather claim that it hasn't arrived than have to return the item.
2. Their feedback as a buyer is atrocious (well, as bad as it can be now sellers can only leave positives). It seems this person claims items haven't been delivered when they haven't been posted via a signed-for method such as recorded. Every one of her feedback comments on page one as a buyer are negative (with the obligatory postive sign next to them, misleading other sellers).
Is there anything I can do, other than write the money off, refund and neg like all the other sellers?

Did you send recorded? Unfortunately if you didn't there is little you can do - i think they must wait about 8 or 10 days, maybe longer before opening a paypal claim. Clearly state what has happened when you leave feedback - then block block block - if you get a neg, just add a comment under to state something like: ''dodgy buyer - check their feedback - continuously claims non receipt''
And please is there any chance we can be made aware of this dodgy buyer's ID - i would love to see them hitting a brick wall when they try to bid on items

mohammed_jahall was my previous dodgy buyer. I'd rather not post to ID of my current 'problem' until it's been sorted one way or the other.
I will do when it's over though!

Just a thought, you mention just selling a DVD with disc and sleeve, to a lot of people that means copy or fake. Does this buyer usually buy this sort of stuff, could he be a vigilante looking to take out the pirate sellers?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi soolin
That's another possibility, yes, although the item was a promo DVD from a newspaper (I picked up a massive joblot of them recently) so I'd like to think they'd be aware it was 'real', if you see what I mean.
Anyway, new developments today: overnight, they send three messages through eBay stating that they believed me to be calling them a thief. I've said nothing of the sort at any time, so they could have a guilty conscience. I didn't reply to any of them. Then, at 8.30pm, they sent a further message stating they'd 'just been to the sorting office and picked up the packet - the postage was wrong' and they'd had to pay '£1.08'.
Obviously, I apologised profusely, despite knowing full well a promo DVD would get through the system with just a bog standard Large Letter stamp (it was packaged in a board-backed envelope). I also asked if they'd mind scanning the envelope and sending me the image as proof.
I've just received a scanned image of an envelope with a charge of £1.08 levied. The only problem is, it isn't my envelope! It's not my handwriting, and unless my eyes are failing me, the postmark is July! The only text accompanying the message was, 'I think you should refund in full as I had to drive to the PO and petrol isn't free'.
I'm unsure what to do now other than tell them to p*** off.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
I would send them a message asking if they could scan your envelope in as they have mistakenly scanned an envelope dated as July.
It may put them off, or it may make them think twice about carrying on.
If they still make a fuss I would (grudgingly) give them a refund of the £1.08, for the sake of feedback alone.0 -

Good idea about saying the envelope was mistakenly scanned. Not sure I'd refund though; I think poor feedback will be left by the buyer, whatever the seller does, given how they're conducted the purchase so far. Most recent wins: IPad, Jamie Magazine yearbook, Links of London friendship bracelet, Baumatic ice cream machine! :j0 -
I'd take the neg on this one and refuse to have any more to do with this frankly odd buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Update:
Today I have received so many messages from this buyer that they take up the first page of my 'inbox' on eBay! All of them are copy and paste jobs asking when am I going to refund their £2... Needless to say, so many messages has had an impact - I've given in and refunded in full, telling them to keep the item as a gesture of goodwill.
If they try this tactic with every seller, they're making a nice pile of goods aren't they? As sellers can't leave negative feedback, anyone that glances at theirs see a perfect record. I'll wait for them to leave feedback before I name and shame them here.
Oh, and that username of a previous nutter buyer I posted further up the page seems to have returned under a pseudonym. I only noticed today when I checked my unpaid items, only to see three have been purchased by a 'jahall_09' and have yet to be paid for, seven days on. It could just be a coincidence, but they're all Buy It Now items with Best Offers that I assumed nobody would buy at the full RRP. This username has done just that. Oh dear...10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0
