i do not hold out much hope that i am going to be able to sue him for a refund, however - as the person above states happened with them, this low life is now threatening to try and get a ccj against us ad he is saying we owe HIM money!
...and just how would he prove that "fact" in the circumstances?:D0 -
Keep the bottles of pee, and if he threatens to sue you, threaten to prove that its the apprentices by DNA testing!I can spell - but I can't type0

There is no way the guy will be able to get a CCJ against you :)there is no financial agreement between you and although personally I would go through small claims to get my money back if I were you (because I'm a tenacious moo) then I guess it depends on how badly it irks you
If he did try to recover the outstanding amount from you then I have a feeling any judge would laugh him out of their court room
Not quite correct, there is a contract between them, if either of them took it to court the DJ would listen to both of them and decide who is telling the truth.
On the face of it the OP agreed to pay him to rewire the house, he was doing just that until she discovered the improvised toilet. Her other electricians have confirmed the work he had done was worth £400 which is what she has paid him but she is trying to retain his tools & materials, there is also the question of lost profit as he could well have turned other work down to do hers at short notice.
I’m not taking sides here, just guessing at the viewpoint of the electrician.
The contractual relationship has obviously broken down but no significant loss has been incurred by either side and certainly from the OPs/electricians point of view any money s/he might get from the court would be more than outweighed by the hassle and time involved so unless s/he’s stubborn and pursues it as a matter of principle s/he won’t do anything further and just write it off as another crap tradesman/bonkers customer. Notice the blue and red versions both make sense.
This sort of thing is exactly why we avoid domestic stuff like the plague, give me an nice industrial site any day.0
