Drug users, drug dealers, prostitutes, wife beaters, GBH offenders,
plus, blood, s****, spit and vomit. Do you really want to own this car? :wall::wall:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
You obviously missed the one where they chased a 4x4 over a signed "Sump Breaker" stopping vehicles going into a bus lane. The 4x4 made it but the Omega beached itself on the sump from high speed :eek:On Road Wars last night, a traffic car was chasing some numpty over speed humps at 60 mph, now that is going to do serious damage to any car.:eek:Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

We have around a dozen Volvo V70 estates, along with 2.8t Vectra's, 330d BMW and a few XC70's
The V70 is our RPU and ARV vehicle, as with all of these cars, they are generally hacked around internally with the offside rear passenger seat removed for the fitting of the gun box, although this is returned during decommissioning.
The roof lining is also hacked around, and the roof drilled out for the wiring of the roof bar lights and ANPR cameras, the dashboards are altered for the Cleartone sets, so inside is normally pretty worn and not always a pretty sight once everything is removed.
The cars are religiously serviced every 10k and subject of a safety inspection every three months which is almost an MOT, the cars are maintained to a very high standard with only Volvo bits fitted, also high performance tyres, normally Goodyear, are changed at 3mm.
We average 18mpg over a three month period, year in and year out. The cars are at their absolute weight limit 24 hours per day, and are driven very hard, often on the rev limiter many times a day. The suspension has never caused any real issues, despite speed bumps and the weight, the Volvo does suffer from a poor turning circle.
Bodywork wise, all ours have a Battenberg transfer fitted, which when removed is surprising how this absorbs most knocks and scrapes and the bodywork comes up pretty well which can hide the hard life it has had. Most of the cars will have had at least three or four panels or work to the bodywork during the three years we keep them, this is mainly from Tpac etc.
The roof usually has four holes drilled out, although of late the fitting of roof bars has reduced the drill holes to two.
The interior suffers a lot with the handcuffs and body armour wearing the fabric, especially the front seat lumbar regions. I wouldn’t worry about spillages from the pond life, any contamination is removed by a cleaning company, so it may be the car gets valeted three or four times a month. The spare wheels are removed when the car comes, purely to save weight, so you should always get a brand new spare and tyre
Would I buy one....absolutely not.
Would I buy an ex police car, yes, but only one possibly used as a staff car or from the driver training unit which are cared for meticulously and not hacked around.
The Rover 8 series possibly mentioned in an earlier post was an 827sli which went well over twice around the clock and was still strong the day it went, but this car spent the first 100k in the driving school before going to the motorway unit and was good in a straight line, there was also an X reg Jag XJ40ps which covered 287k miles before being sold off, so the cars are capable of dealing with the miles, but they generally look and feel like the drivers..............................knackered
Interested in how you get on, Our cars go though BCA, this may help0
