Which phone for internet access?

I'm a very low volume mobile phone user on Virgin PAYG - my quarterly charges are generally around £10. I've been finding that I have occasionally need to access the internet while on the move - the phone I currently have has internet access but the screen is so small as to be useless and I've never bothered, other than for a looksee when I first bought the phone.

What phones would provide a reasonable browsing experience? I'd prefer to buy the phone rather than move onto a contract, and wouldn't really want to spend more than £200.
