Hi everyone,
We're all doing so well!
My goals for LAST week:-
*Send off Smile stuff to continue opening current account - Nearly done (at last!) - waiting for the policeman at work to verify my photocopy of my passport - then the envelope is all ready to post
*Complete 1 x big eBay order - Nearly done too! All finished, just need to polish, wrap and send
*Research small claims stuff in Scotland and submit claim (if can get to court) - Nearly done (this must be a pattern!). Done lots of research, received some excellent help on the BAG forum and am submitting my claim first thing on Tuesday.
*Cancel Mint card - Done - yay!
*4 no spend days - Have no idea, not doing very well on the old spending recently, going a bit mad in charity shops and car boots! Need to reign myself in, quick smart!
*List 20 x things on eBay or turbolister (tonight, hopefully) - I think I listed about 12, which is great for me
My goals for THIS week:-
*Submit court claim for bank charges - whoopee!
*Restart diet big style
*Five no spend days and recalulate money for month due to my stupidity (as above)
*Contact 2 people off work at the moment (1 sick, 1 baby) and arrange to visit/meet up
*List more on eBay - maybe 10 things?
*Make a start on another big eBay order
*Make further arrangements for adopting my 2 cats from CPL
*Impress when meeting potential babysitting peeps on Wednesday
scottishspendaholic xMBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
Bank of Scotland = £2,782.830 -
Hi all and well done your targets.
Ehallett, I hope you will get better this week. Take it easy.
Last week’s goal were
1. follow my study plan (professional exams in June) Yep 110 %, and even 1 day ahead
2. walk to and from the train station every day 110% achievement – did not drive even weekend.
3. make my own lunch every day – 100%
4. oh, and of course, no biscuits, no choc bars, and no crisps, and pretzels for the whole week - almost done it. I had been very good all week, saving 4 biscuites and a maffin given to me for my tea in the office, but yesterday I ate it all (not at once). Still don’t know what came on me??!?!??!
Who knows, maybe points 2, 3, and 4 will make me loose some weight? The hand on the scales did not move a notch.
This week’s:
1. revise every day
2. home made lunches and walking to and from the train station
3. think about where to get extra £300 to go to a festival in Denmark – taught one!
Good luck every one!0 -
OK, haven't done this before, here goes, although v unusual week:
1. Friend from work staying 2 nights, will cook 1st night from freezer & fridge, will buy for 2nd night & cook (will NOT go for Indian, even if is 1/2 price!)
2. Will buy only 1 round of drinks when away on course & will go to bed early, saving money & liver at the same time!:rotfl:
3. Will check out petrolprices.com for cheapest diesel.
4. Will get round to buying £5 curtains from Roseby's for BTL house am doing up to sell while they still have some left.
5. Will take lunch to work on Friday (only day am in)
6. Will start to move food from freezer to fridge freezer so can defrost it (found a polar bear in there earlier)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

It's pay day this week so my plan is to not spend a penny
A PENNY! till then.
I've got to phone Seeboard and tell them I'll pay my bill on payday. Theyre sending me evil letters already!
Lunch to work each day (will have to, only have £3 in my bank account)
Day off on wednesday will be spent tidying up the house, cleaning etc, anything that keeps me well inside the confines of my house and away from spending money.
So no big push really. My bigger challenge will come just after friday, want to last for as long as I can with only paying my bills, and not actually spending cash on cr*p.See how long I can last out with that one!
Well I'm really anoyed with myself already this week and its only monday lol!
Got to phone seeboard today and pay bill!
Took lunch to work everyday except yesterday, ended up buying a wrap for tesco's which was horrid!
Day off I cant even remember, it was so long ago!
This week:
Lunch to work every day, should be easily do-able.
Laundry done by end of monday, so no more needed during week.
Lots and lots of housework to be done, inc cleaning oven, as it has no started burning off whatever is inside it!
Bed linen changed and washed.
Phone seeboard and pay bill
Phone council and pay C.Tax
Pay in money from flatmate for bills
Call old flatmate and ask when money owed is turning up!
Send another set of letters to Abbey regarding PPI on loan and credit card, still living in hope I might get a reply.
Take credit and debit cards out of purse!
Is anyone else struggling with how pants they appear to be at this.I've got all the will in the world but I just seem to be falling flat on my face!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Benefits challenge
Apply for 2 new jobs (1 down, one to find)
Finish work assignment by Thursday so I can have a slacker day Friday and make house nice for b/f coming back from holidayDebt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Hi all,
w/c 23/4/06
1. 3 no spend days - no, 2. Disorganised buying of bits and pieces at the start of the week and a present on Thursday when otherwise I might have snatched a no spend!
2. Check the Halifax transfer hits the A&L and distribute it appropriately - done
3. Price check and compare utilities companies with view to switching - not done - I forgot about this one. In mitigation I have been v. poorly...
4. Sort out front garden - done!
5. Carry a bottle of water when I go out - not done, unless you count the one already in the car (no me neither, so a resounding fail then)
6. Spend as little as possible on groceries - I did pretty well. The month ran at an appalling overspend most of the way through, but came in alright by the end, so I must have been frugal the last week!
7. Return Fastback library book by Thursday - yep, put it out ready on Weds only to leave it at home, but remembered to take it on Thurs
Also achieved: amounts of manual labour in back garden, being able to balance my money before and after the Farmers Market to the exact penny, losing weight (cheated by following the being ill method)
This week w/c 30/4/06
1. 3 no spend days
2. Do monthly accounts
3. Look at utilities switching
4. Keep the heating off
5. Talk with OH about garden planning
6. Sort out next two b'day presents
7. Book theatre ticketsDo I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
