The young girl was the only one who came out of it with any credit. She is precisely the sort of person who should be prioritised for special help, and I suspect she will get a decent job quickly.

The vast majority of the 'clients', though, were completely unemployable. Sad but true.

    very pretty too, eh?

she did get a job (telesales) but was laid off again within the month (it said at the end).

    sad but true.

Was she? I didn't notice. I only have eyes for Mrs Bendix. :A

Having said that, I'd give her one.

    A job, I mean.

Strange that th ones who get employment are suddenly laid off after 4 weeks. Maybe it's just a coincidence and I shouldn't be so cynical.

Telesales isn't something everybody can do. Maybe she wasn't meeting the sales targets, or maybe the organisation wasn't making its targets. It's good she gave it a go though. I've done it lots of times when I've needed work ... you have to switch off and just power through as it's a numbers game... and switch off emotionally too else the bugg4hs grind you down.

The one thing that stuck out to me was the way the landscaping guy was spoken to by the boss at A4e, I'm suprised he spoke to him like that on camera, which makes me wonder what he speaks to people like off camera.
He was condescending, speaking to him like he was a naughty schoolboy, how was that supposed to get him motivated?
Still that was no excuse for man looking for work, to go home and threaten violence against him, I was with him up to that point, no way would I employ him, he's like a loaded gun ready to go off, I suspect that's the reason he didn't keep his job for long.

The courses were a complete joke, I can't believe money is being spent like this. A4e, is nothing but job creation for job creation's sake.

The whole program was depressing, the only bright spark, was that cute looking young girl. She seemed to have more intelligence than most as well.

I've been to things like that before, you look busy and no one bothers you, staff and pupils both know it's a waste of time, you go through the motions.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
