If Hayley's not back next week I'm not watching it, she is priceless.:T
yes very disappointing. i was under the impression she was a regular feature. todays tutors were very dull. i wonder what sort of contracts they are on?
there were a lot of grey eyes and junkie looking types today. is it really like that up north?Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
I can't see it. Loaded 4od but laptop's not dragging it across.I was watching it in 10 second chunks (10secs then wait 20 for the next 10) but it's now stuck at 3mins in - and power's running out on this. Only one power socket in this room and it seems to be broken,... so it's a right bugg4h0

I am not going to watch it. I will just end up wanting to set fire to A4Es' head office.PasturesNew wrote: »I can't see it. A4e just been awarded a new £150 million contract. What a scam. Aren't they simply doing the job of the Job Centre???0

well no they offer additional motivating sessions such as making useless things out of cellotape and old newspaper or felt tip pen colouring in of preschool books. these cunningly designed tasks are to show people just how low they need to sink their hopes and aspirations in order to accept the zero hour, no sick pay, no pension, no morals, totally alienating "jobs" on offer.
i thought this series was just going to be comedy value but actually it's brilliant (if totally depressing). the interactions are dickensian. can we expect a christmas special with bob crachitt asking for a day off and an A4e representative telling them if they don't accept the no guarantees job that pays the minimum wage over the christmas season their benefits will stop for "if they would rather die than go there, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population"......
the moral of this tale is that by far the majority are prepared to work if the jobs on offer have reasonable terms and conditions (such as a guaranteed weekly wage and being permanent).Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
what a load of crap A4E,please how do they get away with it.this company are making us all a laughing stock,money you might as well give it away0

maybe the longterm unemployed should set up a business to help others back to work. .
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You're my favourite poster by far ninky. I really wish I lived in your world, a world where you think the longterm unemployed could set up a company to help others back to work, and where you believe people when they say they want to work if only the job is right simply because they say so on a BBC tv programme.
Do you actually know any longterm unemployed? Have you ever been within 200 metres of a council estate, for example?
Honestly, it's soooooo cute.
I watched it for the first time last night. I don't know who was the more depressing group - the unemployed clients of A4E, or the otherwise unemployable dregs who worked for them.0 -
Caveat . . I quite liked the guy who got the job as a landscape gardener, despite his appalling taste in women. Shame it didnt work out for him - i suspect there's a story behind that story.0

I must admit to not watching any of this...I would have done a few years ago and probably made the same judgements some others have made on this thread but now it would just seriously pee me off (like the thread last week).
Bendix - Should come to the ex council estate and now housing association estate where I live, most work.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
