you say you pay top tax but can not afford to get a house without help.....does not add up.....and your scared to tell the wife? imagine having to live in rented much longer...good god no...you were up crying and could not sleep....oh the drama...

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

geoffky - the situation with Biggurs paying the top whack of tax and on HomebuyDirect does add up as the maximum income to qualify for the scheme is £60k, there are some properties listed on HBD at well over £300k and as you still need to qualify for a big enough mortgage for at least 70% of that, you can see why anyone applying would be in the 40% bracket, also as they pay Stamp Duty Land Tax on the total equity (not just their own) they end up effectively giving back up front part of the 5 year subsidy

anyway its The FINDON on the corner.

must have a drink when we meet!

    Cant believe this!
    what plot num is yours?

Mind you I aint been down for a few weeks, especially after nearly losing the 'plot' !!!!!!! in both sense of the word LOL
dont tell me your financial advisor is carl? mortgage beaureu ( or is it beureu??? the only word in the entire english dictionary i cannot spell!)

Oh well, nice to meet you!!!!!!

Plot 28 for us. Which, after looking at the plan, is very close to yours!! We are on the back row of the development (From the apartment block, 4th house along). The only bit not yet built.

Our FA is Carl. Surprised you had some trouble while he has been off on paternaty leave. A girl in the office called Keiry (or something like that) has been dealing with us over the 3 weeks he has been off. Can't really fault Carl at the moment. Done everything quickly and efficiently for us

    My wife is not working.
I pay the higher rate of tax but not as much as £60,000.
To be eligible for homebuy your household income shopuld be less than £60,000.
    So there you go.
    Do not judge people.

I was up crying....................... so what........... you dont know anything about me........... maybe my wife has had a lot of problems and i dont want to upset her............ may be I was upset.....nothing wrong with being upset.......
AS LONG AS YOUR HOUSEHOLD INCOME IS LESS THAN £60,000 P/A THEN YOU QUALIFY FOR HOMEBUY.

I KNOW A DOCTOR WHO HAS APPLIED THROUGH HOMEBUY. IF YOUR PARTNER IS NOT WORKING, THEN MOST PEOPLE WHO ARE FIRST TIME BUYERS, OR HAVE DIVORCED ETC ETC ARE ELIGIBLE. THERE ARE NOT MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE A SALARY OF OVER £60,000.

I HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION MR GEOFF, BUT IF IT DOESNT THEN DOWNLOAD THE HOMEBUY PDF FILE OFF THE INTERNET (IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THAT)

    Keirys great
    Carls great
Someone else at the office said the decision has to come from carl and on that particular day i was a bit stressed and the impressio I got was that I wont hear nothing until carl gets back, but last friday kiery informed me about the halifax (this was a few hours after I called the halifax and found out my self) and she did say although Carl was not at the office he was still dealing with the case for which i take off my hat to him.
And he was really good when dealing with Orbit. They kept saying to me that my FA had still not sent some relevent info when infact he had done repeatedly. So what he done he forwarded me the e-mails he had from orbit which clearly put orbit in the wrong. They had sent him e-mails confirming everything was fine, yet someone else at orbit kept saying something else!!!!!

Same for us. We had an issue at the beginning and in the end Carl sent us the emails. Amazing how quickly things got sorted after that.

On my initial mortgage application with RBS, Carl phoned me on a Friday afternon and said we needed to get the forms signed and sent to RBS because their rates were going up. There was no way i could get to him (i work in coventry!) so he said he will scan the forms, e-mail it to me, and I was to sign the relavent parts and scan & e-mail it back, but the computer I and my colleagues use are not connected to the internet 9except for the boss' computer in the office) and we dont have a scanner! (i remember asking him wouldn't it be easier if he faxed then to me and will fax them back but he said they didnt accept faxes or the quality isnt very good. I was about to run out to argos and buy a scanner but carl suggested I print out the forms which he was about to e-mail me and to meet up later on in the evening at a location near his home with the signed forms while in the meantime he would contact the RBS to secure the rate.

So Carl scanned the application form and e-mailed it to me and I had to use my boss' laptop, print the forms out sign all the relevant boxes and met Carl that night and he had those forms sent in time to secure the interest rate. That saved me about £150 on my monthly mortgage repayment figure........or shall I say it would have!!
But that seemed a lifetime ago.
That was before the fun and games started!!!!!!

By sheer luck, on fridays by the afternoon, the office is usually locked as the boss' go home. But not on that day!

So Carl has done a great job!
