    No but seriously, your problem is more than likely your antivirus..... AV is the single biggest cause of PC slowdowns. I mean.... look at it this way, your PC has to open and virus scan every single file before you use that file. When you open for example Internet Explorer, there are thousands of small files attached to it and each one has to be virus scanned!!

    Ok i think we should focus on the issue of the pc going slow, in alienriks post theres 2 links; 1 for hijack and the other for malwarebytes, download these install and get them to do they're business

    To check your RAM: Go to My Computer, right click, Properties, it's on the General tab.

    No, that is hard disk space. RAM is working memory. If you look on the General tab as advised it will state something like '512MB RAM'.
    BTW you should have plenty of disk space if you have only used 16.8GB, that's only about 12% full. But if you only have 15GB left then you have a problem, as your hard disk is 90% full-it won't operate properly once you get beyond about 85% full. So which is it?
