Hi all,

I have read your posts on 02 wanting to keep customers. I was just wondering if anyone thought it would be possible for me to match the Vodaphone online tariff of £20/mth with 125 minutes and 250 free texts with a free Sony Ericsson W810i phone. I have been with 02 on their high street 100 tariff (£25/mth with 100 minutes and 100 texts) since 14th July last year and I just pay the £25/mth. Do you think it's worth me contacting them at this stage or should I hang on for another 6 weeks or so.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Susan

hi susan, not sure on the liklihood of you getting the tariff and the handset foc - hopefully someone else will know more about how desperate o2 are to retain customers at the moment.

however, i would say wait - they are pretty unlikely (in my experience) to do any sort of deal this far before your current contract ends and as you are after a fairly new handset then the longer you can wait the cheaper the handset becomes and the more chance you'll have of getting it foc.

your option is to call them up a month before your contract expires and tell them you're giving them the months notice - they should ask why at this point and so begins the negotiation - so long as you can get that deal with vodafone then there should be some chance of you getting something from them.

    good luck :)

If you read that thread carefully you can see very specifically, O2 offer better deals to retain customers at the point when customers ask either terminate the contract (ie. calling cancellation team) or request for PAC.

IMHO any other ways to try to get a better deal will not be fruitful.
