Several other clothing outlets quote both as well: but has anyone tried to pay in euros? And are euros legal tender in the UK? (you know - like shops can refuse to take £5 worth of 2p pieces, or whatever).
Is this just on the price labels? Often combined price labels are produced for both the UK and the Republic of Ireland, with both being English-speaking countries. When that is the case, the price is dependant on the location. That is, the Irish Euro price only applies when it’s being sold in Ireland, and the UK pounds sterling price in the UK.

Euros are not legal tender in the UK. The concept of legal tender isn’t really relevant – a shop can accept anything it likes in payment, and equally can refuse anything it likes. It doesn’t even have to accept your £5 as a single five pound note.

A lot of Motorway service areas take Euros - but you get a c**p rate of exchange !
  • Thanks Everyone,
Looks like I'm stuck with these Euros until I go on a holiday then... or give them to someone else who is.
It's not how much you earn..... It's what you do with it.....

Most phone boxes take Euros! As well as some coaches from airports. Also, you can use them anywhere in the Euro zone, not just in that country. Each country's euros have different pictures on and have the name of the country. I like collecting different countries.. hehe. :P But you use Ireland's euro's for example in Spain or Italy. So very versatile. Or you could just save it for another time, perhaps next year if you go for a weekend away to Europe. You never know when you might need them. More places take Euros than you expect.
  • Thanks Guys,
I decided to donate them to a friend who is off to France on holiday on Friday.
I once heard that you shouldn't hold onto money, you should let it flow. If you let it flow out more will flow in.... so we'll see. I hope what ever money does flow back in won't be in Euros...He He ;)
