Sorry I disagee, it is just a gimmick IMO, a bit like auto wipers, surely it isn't asking too much to expect a driver to turn a small switch, when appropriate.

It removes the " thinking " part of driving, so a bad move.

Give drivers that do not switch on dipped headlights when required 3 points on their licences, then they may well get the message.;)

well if it stops someone not seeing an idiot driving towards them whos has forgotten to turn their lights on it can only be a good thing. Its a bit like people who say they dont need an air bag as they are a good driver

Sorry, not comparing like with like, once you remove the thinking part of driving, where does it all end?

i have auto lights and wipers, ive never used the auto lights as i know when i need to put them on,be it day or night.
but i do find the auto wiper feature very handy and i miss it when im driving something without it. i keep them on a low to medium sensitivity and they work a treat

i think drivers should use there common sense more, stop relying on electronic aids and use their own judgment.

Don't get me wrong, but as a higher than average road user (30,000 miles a year, in a car and 5,000 a year on a motorbike) i think far too many driver aids make driving "safe"

They bloody well sure should think a bit more:mad::mad::mad:

I don't think I need anyone to tell me when I would be more visible with my lights on and niether do I think would anyone else..
I agree, thinking, common sense and good observation is the key to good driving.
  • The UK government opposed DRL in the EU, they only wanted it on motorcycles. They have serious concerns on motorcyclist safety when cars get DRL. Most buses already run with DRL.

Auto wipers are a bit different, yes they will switch on when it rains but in intermitant rain and roadsplash they do provide a means of avoiding constantly pratting about with the wiper speeds.

And I'll line this on up for Inactive, ;), my Renault has the most useless auto wiper system imaginable. Every time you swith of the engine you have to restart the auto wiper bit:rolleyes:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
