JSA interview at Jobcenter

After having a phone call about JSA, she told me to go the job centre this week to see an advisor to go over the stuff that has been talked about on the phone, sign the paperwork, and give a sign on date.
What else is done besides those stuff?
When would I get my confirmation letter?
Am I basically qualified for JSA?

I can only go on what happened at mine:-
All they will do is go through whats been said over the phone. Have they asked you to take copies of ID or mortgage insurance, and a copy of your P.45?
They then tend to just explain what happens, and set up a job seekers agreement which states where you will look for vacancies and what type of roles you will be searching for.
As to your confirmation letter , I think mine came about 10 days after I had completed that interview.0 -
When i had mine i first went to see a financial assessor who went through all the details i gave when i applied to make sure they're correct, check bank details etc. They also asked for ID i gave my driving license though i'm sure they said to take utility bills when on phone but i didn't and they never asked.
Then they sent me over to someone who filled in a profile of the type of jobs i was looking for, hours i could do, and did a quick job search. Then they gave the signing on book and explained to fill in the job search steps 3 times a week, and gave the signing on date and time.
I received the letter soon after this, and payment soon ater first sign on.0 -
Just be prepared to be extremely disappointed at the lack of help you get and be prepared to wait. Lots!
Thank god I dont have to go through it all again.0 -
This doesn't mean you're claim has been approved. After you've had the appointment your information will go to the decision makers, and you may have to wait a few weeks before any money comes in.0

Ok.
Will I still know my sign on date though? If so, will my first 'sign on' date be sometime next week (i.e. week commecning 31 Aug)?0 -
Yes, they will give you your sign on date you have the appointment with them. You should attend to sign on every two weeks, even if they take a little while to process the claim. Assuming you are actually eligible they will backdate it to the day you phoned (or thereabouts).0
