Thanks for that - excellent site :beer:Foggie wrote:
I'm ordering a pack of 25 DVD+R (£3.49) and a couple of DVD-RW discs at 79p each in a jewel case. However, the delivery charge is being calculated at £1.69 even though I qualify for 99p delivery
I entered the code and selected economy courier as it said.

Did comet try selling you a DL reader/writer

That's what I thought but it was just a one line email from themT4i wrote:Did comet try selling you a DL reader/writer
It doesn't matter - it's about a year old now so probably can't dual layer... at least that what I think.

What's the make and model?0 -
It CAN do DL. We have already sussed that out from the picture you posted in post #4.
Dont listen to Comet, they don't have the knowlage needed to answer a question like that. That email you got was a mass-auto-fob-off that they send to all customers that ask a technical question.
If you dont believe me look here.

This is your drive......EXACT drive.....same model number etc etc....
It supports this : DVD+R9 (Double layer)0 -
I think he was talking about his year old DVD Player not being able to read dual layer rather than his writer. Nonetheless I would be surprised if a year old dvd player couldn't read a dual layer disc and you are correct about Comet any way.Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

oh, thanks for pointing that out to me....it didnt click that he was talking about his standalone DVD player....
If you have any DVD films that are DL throw one in and see if it plays....I'd be VERY suprised if it doesn't. My 1st DVD player was the old brick shape Sony...3-4 years old and that played lock, stock & two smoking barrels (DL).0 -
It's a Goodmans 2200 - but it's made by Comet not Goodmans  Makes perfect sense huh?irnbru wrote:What's the make and model?
I've been busy so not got round to buying any discs. I'll probably place the order by end of tomorrow hopefully (bank holiday anyway) from SVP... :think:0
