Help with orange contract

Hi im looking for some advice. i managed to cancel my orange contract early a couple of weeks ago due to increased charges and have pac code in hand but not used it yet. I am on orange panther package 900 mins and unlim texts with unlimited browsing for £30 a month. first question is this a good deal and should I stay happy with phone only had it few months. I am a premier customer and always got good service will i get better deal else where.
Second question I had new phone as dropped old phone down toilet 2 weeks after receiving it and took out the insurance as this was cheapest way to get replacement phone as original not insured. Now I took it out 14 may 09 and my pac code expires 8 sept so if i cancel i will not have had phone for the 4 months that was mimimum time I have to have insurnce. If i go to another suplier will the insurance be automatically cancelled or can i carry on the insurance for one more month to meet minimum length then cancel. I dont want to be stung for cost of phone if i move to new supplier
