MM for us as well. Just remember that it is a LONG way out of LA. We traveled there from Las Vegas FOR THE DAY!!! 6 hour car ride, all day at the park, then 6 hours back to LV:eek:
Also check on thier site to see which rides are out of action. we went last January and about half of the rides were down for maintenence
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Thanks Stoneman
We would be travelling in to MM from Ventura - looks like about 40 miles straight run in from the coast on SR129.

(Universal Studios not as convenient to get to.)

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

My vote would be for Universal. I haven't been for a few years but one tip I would give if it is still the same is not to hit Universal at a weekend. The number of local teenagers with annual passes made it really busy. Very different to Orlando in that respect.

Anyone been recently and know whether that is still the case?

We did Universal on a Sunday although off season, and it was dead. We paid for the backstage pass so you could skip the queues and see extra bits but it wasn't totally necessary (except for the extra bits).

    Been to both.

MM awesome big fast scary rides!

US much more family orientated and fun rides coupled with studio tour.

    They are very different.

    Knotts Berry comes somewhere inbetween.

I dont really see how anyone can vote on the best for someone else to go to.

IMO they are both as good as each other in different ways and if you add Knotts Berry in to the mix that is as good too (been there twice)

I'm curious to hear the opinions of people who have been to both.
I will use the poll as a guide (counting the votes of people who have actually been to both) but it will be one of several factors in the decision.

We only have one day, so can only visit one park. Trying to figure out the pros and cons of both. (Knotts Berry Park not in the mix as completely the wrong side of LA.)

MM will be more convenient to get to. Is it worth the extra traffic hassle to get to US?
DD totally up for big scary coasters (the bigger and scarier the better! She's been watching videos on YouTube )
I'm only going to watch, hold bags and take photos (:o) whichever park we go to.
Have never got around to visiting Universal Studios in Florida, or when we were in LA last year.
