Help. At my wits end with the neighbour's dog!

He's moaning that he's on contribution based jobseekers and he's been refused a social care grant for a washing machine and carpets. I pointed out that no matter what he's on he won't get them anyway as they aren't classed as essentials and that if he claimed for a bed there's no guarantee he would get a double as he's single. Oh, and I also pointed out that he had his own place last year so why is he claiming for things that he should already have. Oh, and then told him to get a job to pay for the things if he's fit for work!
So I asked for it really!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
ha that was such a random comment by SBOSlayer, it really made me laff for some reason.
I've been reading your thread screamer and i wish you all the luck in the world for the future. you're OH sounds like an amazing fella, hope you find the house you want with lovely neighbours!
I also hope this poor dog finds some peace and someone to care for him properly. How thats going to happen though i have no idea! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Hi picklepick, thanks for your kind words. Some people think the world owes them a favour, and he was one of them. He's on my ignore list now though, so who cares.
I do say what I think, and Gti_sikh didn't throw abuse at me when I told him in no uncertain terms that £1.50 for 50g of sweets was a rip off. Maybe some people just can't take the truth.
Right, now I'm going back to bed. I passed out a short while ago and am now really tired. Am at the dentist later and unless I want to kick up a stink in there I really think I need some rest. (I don't like dentists, they usually hurt me)
As for getting what I deserve, I'm hoping I do. I deserve a medal and have applied for one of those Mini ones lol :-)Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
screamer, to be fair to SBOSlayer, your rant at them on another thread was both technically incorrect and totally unjustified. I can understand why they chose to retort in the way that they did.
Maybe this is a case where we get what we give out?
Good luck with your dog problem.Gone ... or have I?0 -
dmg, have I not stated that I asked for it?Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0

Have to say I agree with folks who have said that GSDs can be wonderful dogs - and they can be not nice at all and bark the place down too. It is a "deed not breed" issue - any dog may bark to a degree it is a nuisance, as well as being a nuisance or danger in other ways.
For information, I have two dogs (not GSDs), they bark, I consider it my responsibility to address this, and not to allow them to be a nuisance.
If anyone's interested, I have found this an informative publication (don't think anyone else has mentioned it, if so I apologise).

Thanks Mrs_B, I shall print this off tomorrow and post it through the letterbox.
When I spoke to her, I asked if there was anything "We" could do. This might show her what I meant by we, and it might prove that I mean no malice. None of the steps shown in the information you have provided are too difficult, so I guess we'd soon see if she's indifferent or that she really wants to help improve the situation.
I really hope it works. I wish she knew me well enough to know I can't be vindictive no matter how hard I try, and I cannot possibly be a threat to her as she scares the life out of me!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0 -
For anyone who's interested, the problem is sorted.
She has taken a VERY simple step, and it's now so lovely and quiet round here it's shocking.
She closes her curtains during the day!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0
