Estate agent rejected my offer with sarcastic laugh

I didn't say that.
"From what the OP has said I do think the EA is playing them"
"EA played us"
"they had us over a barrel"
"EAs are a whole different calibre of people"
You did make the above comments fueling those who keep saying the agents are playing games. So I feel entitled to correct some peoples misconceptions as from my perspective that many sellers are devious. However as I said NO excuse for rudeness.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -

Think very carefully before you go over your max limit.
Aah, it never came in my mind. But I guess that lady's reaction was very much instantaneous and hence making me to believe that the 119K offer must be true!
Even though my budget can easily match this offer, the value of the property in my views doesn't. So I guess I will not get sucked up by this play by the EAs, if any... :cool:I am neither a bull nor a bear. I am a FTB, looking for a HOME, not a financial investment!0 -
Really? I would ignore the manners of a total stranger on the end of a phone line, and offer what I thought it was worth. I wouldn't pay over the odds because an agent was falsely being nice to get my business.abinanthanb wrote: »If an attitude like this was shown, who knows I might have been tempted to offer more than my max limit.Been away for a while.0 -

The way I was feeling after speaking to her yesterday showed me that I am not totally immune to emotions when negotiating on a price! But certainly after posting here I felt much better and made to realise that I shold not let the gimmicks or insults to deviate from my objective, thats to buy a house with right price.
Thats why I feel forums like this and many nice people who do reply here are invaluable. :TI am neither a bull nor a bear. I am a FTB, looking for a HOME, not a financial investment!0
