does anyone have this same problem with t-mobile
my hubby is in the 6 th month into his t-mobile contract. He is having a frequent problem with receiving calls for the last month or so (it had happened a couple of times a few months ago as well)
He could be sitting right next to his phone and receive a missed call text but the mobile hasnt rang.
All diverts have been switched off/reset and t-mobile have reset voicemail settings etc etc their side but this still happens.
My hubby is using his t-mobile sim in his old phone which is a nokia e65.
any ideas on this one

Yeah I get these too.
It's mainly (for me) because there isn't quite enough signal for a call to get through, even though I have some signal. So it doesn't connect.
Then about 20 mins later I get a text saying I have a missed call..
I don't think there's any solution to it really other than keeping it somewhere where it's always got plenty of signal. i also find that it's worse in older phones, with weaker antenna's.This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -

should have mentioned that he can get a text saying that he has missed a call and the phone hasnt rung and then actually receive calls after or before when he is in the same location, so if it was a signal issue, he wouldnt get the other calls coming through. He is getting a bit miffed with it at the moment.0 -
Yeah i still get this happen to me, and for me it's down to the signal. Once the phone gets enough signal to receive a text you can then generally receive calls. it only takes the slightest change in position to get better/poorer reception. I sometimes have to hold my phone at funny angles to get it to gain signal as i get the 'no network' quite alot.
If you still don't think it's down to the signal then give t-mobile a call, they should be able to help you. they may just blame it on the handset and say it's faulty though. This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -
i have this on and off for the last couple of months0

How about trying the sim in another handset to see if you have the same problem if you don't It's a handset problem if you do then ring T-mobile0

Had a similar problem today, around midday. My mother was trying to ring me from the doctor's surgery so I could pick her up, but she was getting a 'wrong number' reply, and then an 'unavailable' reply from the network.
Tried it later with her sitting next to me - she's on PAYG t-mobile, I'm on contract. I could ring her, but she couldn't ring me - unavailable.
Odd, don't mind it going to voicemail (even though I have to pay to access) but getting a wrong number reply is a bit much!0 -
yes getting the same problems inc the wrong number one but only since having to go back to my old handsetTANSTAAFL !0

Switched to t-mobile from o2 recently - and think I noted this happening once I had switched. Phone would be sitting right next to me and not rung. And when I looked at the phone, had a text message saying missed call. Its not happened often though.
Other odd thing - this might just be my settings - someone sent me a picture or video clip. Instead of getting a MMS to my phone, I had a text from t-mobile telling me to go to a web page and enter the password quoted in message to get at the MMS. Went to the t-mobile address and cant see anything. DOH!0 -
I fear that this arises as a matter of network capacity rather than (just) signal strength. T-Mobile seems to be under-resourced in the number of calls it can handle at any one time, probably specific to certain regions or even cells.
Unfortunately for me, I live in a village that is only strongly served by T-Mob, the other networks are all of low, desperately low, or zero signal and although the norm is a full strength T-Mob meter for much of the time, there are sometimes outages lasting for an hour or two.
The point about being out of radio range is valid, but I would bet that you are the victim of undercapacity in this case.0
