    Err...why? Or shouldn't I ask?
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

I tend to agree with Froggitt. It has a citadel which is impressive. (We got there lunchtime and it was closed) Wonderful boulders from the Pyranees lying around which are very impressive.
I found it to be a soulless part of france. (Totally different to the Italian side)
Spain is nearby and easy to get to.

There are a couple of nice places further south on the coast towards Spain.
I prefer being slightly further north around Narbonne (Narbonne Plage is very nice), plenty to see and do in the Aude Departement.

Interesting. It looks a very nice place. I'll go open-minded.

It just goes to show different people, different perceptions. I've holidayed in that area for 15 years, ( Canet Plage, 10km away). I've always enjoyed it, love the villages in the area, 45 minute drive into Spain, 45 minutes into the Pyrenees, plenty of Castles & historical places to visit. Enjoy.

The beach at Canet Plage is very nice and clean , and you can visit Carcasonne(sp) which is very cultural. If you do the coastal road ,to Spain, you go through some lovely seaside villages , one that I remember was Bayuls (sp)very pretty. Enjoy the area .

Banyuls, mmmm, love the fortified wine of the same name from there. Other villages on the coast road :- Collioure is beautiful, Port Vendres, Port Bou just over the Border. Inland from Perpignan, Villefrance de Conflent for The Little Yellow Train into The Pyrenees.

Nothing really there for miles around to do or visit, unless youre into old buildings, and as the poster above mentionned, they close at inconvenient times.

Can recommend the car hire at the airport though.
