With the usual speed that HSBC do things, we'll be lucky to have our £20s for Christmas.DFW Nerd 0350

I am very disappointed I wasn't able to grab their offer. I have a credit card with hsbc and registered on their online banking. I have tried to log in couple of times today hoping to apply for their online websaver account but there is no options for savings account (don't know if its only for credit card holder) so I rang their internet helpdesk and had spoken to 3 different people with the last person who told me that I can't open such account unless I have a current account with them. I told him that I read their T & C and fully understood and that there's nothing that tells me that I need to be existing current holder to apply one. He replied " I am sorry sir but that is all I can do." This conversation happened around 10pm where they are about to close. I am very annoyed on such very incompetent people and didn't even managed to get his name as he seems to be in a hurry. This means that I missed their May day offer. I have sent a secure message on their website asking for explanations.0

I was just making a point that it takes a while to get the £20 payment! So that people d knwo that it does take a while!!0 -
I'm sorry but I don't rate this account.
If you make a withdrawl you don't get any interest paid that month on the whole balance, not just the money you withdraw.
You've got £10K in the account and you take £50 out, you've lost all of the interest on the £9950 for that month!
If you're going to use one of these accounts think of it as an all or nothing approach, save in the account but if you need money out you may be better off closing it down and starting a new account up later than to take a little money out and loose interest on the remaining balance.Tight fisted accountant since birth.0 -
The point of this thread was to highlight that if you had 500 bucks to spare, dump it in here and get 20£ in 2 months time.Take the money out after.A fair rate of interest for 2 months of tie in!If you intend looking for a good saver account you are right..better look elsewhere.
This bank holiday account opening should expect their 20 quid by end July.'You see the coefficient of the linear is juxtapositioned by the haemoglobin of the atmospheric pressure in the country..c'mon gajive join the party' :dance:0 -
After speaking to an incompetent customer adviser on same offer last May Day that me and my wife want to open an e-saver account but was told that we can't open one as we are not a current account holder in spite holding a credit card with them and stressing to him that it is clear on their offer on the internet that it doesn't necessary be an existing current holder. His reply was," I'm afraid that's all I can do sir!". I wrote a complaint and they made their own investigation on the said case and got a letter of apology last week and had told us that this offer will be repeated again this bank holiday and was told to ring them but we have decided that we rather keep our money safe in a high paying instant access account as the more you keep your balance the more it earns interest. Not worth the hassle.0
