no, you just have to pay it in. It is not a regular saver, just an on line saver, and ,no, they do not charge you if you close it, but I will wait until my £20 is credited and then move the money to my on line A&L account which pays higher interest

Make sure you transfer out on the first of the month - the online saver pays no interest for any month when you withdraw (any) cash.
  • I understood that to apply or upgrade your hsbc account to the one that is paying the £20 cash back that there are monthly charges on the account for certain privileges ie holiday insurance etc. Am I wrong?
It is unwise to pay too much but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, all you lose is a little money... that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot...it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better (John Ruskin - 19 ctry author, art critic & social reformer)

Pretty sure the Premier current account is around a tenner a month unless you have either a £70k salary (paid in) or £50k savings or £100k mortgage with them (may be wrong about some of the numbers).

They offered the same over Easter - applied for x2 savings & the credit card.

No contact yet on the savings accounts, but have had a letter said I have been approved for the credit card. A second letter today returing my ID said they would be in touch shortly "with their decision" ???

    Not impressed.

Normally listed down the left-hand side when you're logged in - if this doesn't happen for the credit card login, try the main site http://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/personal/internet-banking Savings tab.
