Mastercard Easter surprise

I have just received My mastercard account from NatWest and the nice people have charged me £20.00 plus interest of £7.odd just because of Easter bankholiday. Via internet banking I arranged for the full amount to go from my current account to pay my mastercard. This went out on the 12th April. It did not enter my mastercard account until Tuesday 18th April and I was therefore charged the above fee for one day's delay. Of course the fee was put on my account on 17th (easter Monday). Funny how it works for the banks but not for my money going in.
How can I reclaim this back? It's like talking to brick walls.
Where is the money when it's being transferred? five days floating about in the air!!
Help anyone.

All this is very easy to predict: Don't forget your minimum payments at Easter . However, if it is your first blunder, call them and ask politely. You are likely to get at least a half of the charge (not interest) back. And don't forget that you don't have interest-free period on purchases this month because you have not paid the last balance on time.0

How the heck did you imagine that the money would get there in 1 banking day? (From Wednesday to Thursday)???0 -

Mmm Probably the same way in that when you post a message on this forum, the database is called through a PHP script and the transaction completed. Wow seconds, isn't technology great...? Of course your bank operates in a completely different way and you must think that the nice people at the bank you transact with have a meeting every other day in a coffee shop in stratford with piles of money settling the books....?0
