Don't forget your minimum payments at Easter

I know I have been stung before my MSE days but just thought I would remind everyone that there are 4 non bank days ahead (2 bank holidays, Fri and Mon and of course Sat and Sun) so some minimum payments might need to be made in a different way depending on your bank.

I know that with a couple of my credit cards the payments go onto the account a couple of days quicker than if I use internet banking.

I wouldn't want anyone to lose any 0% deals because of a late payment.

Also if you have an &More card you can pay instore in cash and it goes on your account the next day, even on a weekend (but not sure about a bank holiday).

Of course if you have direct debits on every account then you can just ignore this advice. ;)

I just checked my Capital One credit card, and an error by Esure has been corrected, as i was expecting, but what i was wondering was would this count as a minimum monthly payment? It's above the minimum amount, and was made within the terms of the month etc, but as it was paid out and in again (due to esure error) does this still count?

I plan to make a payment to this CC anyway at the end of the month, but if this counts as a payment then i need not worry about remembering at least 5 days before to allow for the 'transfer' (meaning banks keeping your cash and releasing it to it your account when they have earnt interest, grrrr)

Because most people do not know that this facility exists (it is not in the interest of CC companies to push this as they make a lot of money from late payment charges).

And to avoid interest altogether on purchases have a direct debit for the full amount. This was always available in the past but only the 'minimum' payment facilty was usually mentioned on the reverse of statements etc. (You had to 'ask' in other words.)
