I've just sold something on ebay (my first ever sell!!),but am worried as the last 2 bids (including the winning bid) were from people who joined today and 0 feedback and from the USA.
I have sent an invoice to the winner, anything else I can do!!

It's probably a bit late but set your seller preferences tight to avoid bidders from overseas if you only want to sell in the UK. You may find this thread of use:

What were you selling? Electronic items and mobile phones can attract dodgy bidders.
You need to make sure that you find out how much postage to cover the cost of sending your item with tracked delivery and that your buyer is happy to pay this cost.0 -
Yes it was my mobile phone!! I know not to do anything until I receive payment!! But how long do I need to wait before I can do a 2nd chance offer thing?Just keep swimming0

I think that mobile phones can't be claimed for if they are sent abroad - someone on here will know for definite.
I would email the buyer saying you are very sorry but when you have contacted the post office they are unable to insure it to be sent abroad.
Then I would relist and using the link Soolin put in her post change your settings to UK only, also you will need to post special delivery so make sure you put this cost in your postage price. You can also change your account settings to only accept bids from people with a credit card attached to their paypal account and people who have a negative feedback score or too many unpaid item strikes.0 -
Great advice thank you!! Will do so now!!Just keep swimming0

Be very, very cautious. I received a winning bid on a high value item from a bidder in the USA - this is despite my preferences being set to UK only. The winning bidder had no feedback so I mailed him saying that I would not send the item because he was in the USA. Next day I received an e-mail allegedly from Pay Pal stating that the bidder had paid and could I send the item to this address in Nigeria! I checked my account via my browser and needless to say there was no money.
Then I received another mail, this time purporting to be from Ebay (it wasn't) saying that I had been given a strike for not sending the item. Basically it said that unless I sent the item immediately, I would be heavily penalised.
Thankfully, the bidder was removed from Ebay and I got all my fees back. The item has now been relisted as the second chance offer was not accepted.
Just waiting to see what threat he makes next!0 -

Just wanted to add that phones should never ever be offered outside the uK as there is no postal insurance possible with Royal mail.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
