o2 unhappiness
approx 4-5 years ago i received a letter from o2 regarding a limited offer of free internet browsing, this was something i had never really used so thought it would be a good time to try it.at the end of that month i then received a bill for approx £400 much to my horror as i dont even ring people from the phone (frantic texter).i then spent the next year and a half arguing and continualy being pushed around different departments and wasting my lunchbreaks sitting on hold listening to messages of how great o2 are.since then i hav given up completely and had to move house to get rid of endless threats to recover money i dont owe.i realise that burying the head in the sand didnt work as i now have a ruined credit rating but dont know where to go from here to finaly put an end to it.has anyone else had similar experiences and did they resolve it or are they currently living in the underground as soldiers of fortune wanted by o2 for crimes they didnt commit?

Welcome to the forum. First of all, a tip. Break up any posts with paragraphs, new lines and space so we can read them. You will get a better response.
Your last sentence actually isn't right is it? Technically, you may not have committed a crime, but you ran up the bill, albeit not consciously, but, just like anything that is charged by units used, you have landed yourself with a bill and O2 are in the right to pursue you for it.
Now, you have seen what happens. Your credit is ruined and that will affect you for some time to come. How to get round it? Well, you need first of all th clear the debt either by negotiation with O2 (which you acknowledge you should have done initially) or by paying it off.
There is no magic silver bullet, I am afraid, if the bill has been legitimately incurred.
There is a statute of limitations for the bill to be pursued.of 6 years, but the starting point of that 6 years escapes me for now - perhaps some other MSE member can help. But your credit rating is another thing, I am afraid.
Sorry not to be of more practical help.0
