i have found this link which talks about using garlic and fleas becoming used to anything they get too much of:

    http://www.eartheasy.com/article_natural_flea_control.htm

One thing i will point out is that it says certain types of garlic can be used on dogs but are harmful to cats. the advert explains more, just thought it was worth mentioning that in the thread.

There's so much contradictory stuff out there! The above link refers to fleas becoming immune to the popular chemicals with the various harmful/toxic warnings that we buy in shops or from vets.

http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:http://www.easygreenliving.net/naturalfleacontrol.html This link gives the amount of cider vinegar needed in water and does say it needs to be organic and raw (unpasteurised). What I'm currently using is raw but not organic and it does work. When I've got through my massive supply I will give the dogs and hens what I drink myself which is raw and organic as it is still so cost effective compared to the flea chemicals. I get mine here http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/products/biona/biona-cider-vinegar-75cl/ or my local health shop will now match the price for 6 bottles. So £2.09 per bottle and you use 1/2 a teaspoon in every 8 fluid ounces of drinking water plus you get the added benefits of improved immune system etc etc.

(Sorry about this link above - it comes up with boxes over the writing but I couldn't get it any other way.)

yeah, i dont think the frontline works anymore either.

By the way dont waste your time on "strikeback" for your home for fleas. I have bought 2 lots and it is complete rubbish.I did all the stuff you need to do daily and they still have been around.Grrr!

Frontline not working here either :( Have started the dog on garlic and cider vinegar - will report back after an appropriate length of time.
