I switched off my air-con and then tried much later to switch it on, only to be told it now needed re-filling - at £50.00 - so was it worth it?0

Your air con would need re-filling regardless. It has nothing to do with having it switched off. That's just the price you pay for having a car with such features.0 -
Its called sco driving techniques, the learners have to demonstrate eco driving on test, although they are not marked (yet) down for non compliance. I get 60 mpg out of the Golf 1.9 even around town, when out on the Mways driving at around 60 mph I get 70/5. I have beem trained in the method of eco driving also I have a pushbike mainly used for urban shopping. So The price won't bother me that much;)Better to be poor than a slave to wealth
