espn

Do you need a telephone line to have espn
I have a slot on the back of my tv and a sky box connected which I do not subscribe to now.
Would I need to get a card from espn for the tv slot?

You can get ESPN via Freeview and Top up TV. I believe it is £9.99/month.
That is assuming you have a freeview tv and the card slot can take a TUTV card.
If you go down that route no phone line involved.

Have a look on freeview channel 34.

You don't need a phone line. You can get ESPN via Freeview (with a viewing card and CAM module) or via a Sky subscription.
You don't make it clear how you are currently getting your TV-Freeview or Sky non subscription?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

On DTT what Freeview, TopUPTV and EPSN broadcast over you get just the one channel.

On satellite and cable you get 4 channels (though 1 is HD and on satellite requires extra charge).

EPSN's channels should shortly be available to those with no Sky subscription, though may be slightly higher rate than if a subscriber.

Plus with Sky you've only needed the phone line if you had more than one box in the house.

    Not really free, but inclusive.

This is how I watch it, in HD too (well the odd programme they have in HD that is at the moment, the rest poorly up-scaled by them),

The OP only mentioned they had DTT and satellite, though I did mention cable.

Sure is a good added bonus, I enjoy ESPN America too.

Dont really care much for footie, More looking forward to UFC/Classic boxing stuff they show.
  • If you go to sky.com and go to sky products you will see a link for espn. You can get yourself a £5 discount for your first months subscription should you sign up on line.

I did the free trial for ESPN through Top-Up Tv. Only it isn't free, because it's one month free then a 30-day cancellation period. And if you cancel the payment, then you can't cancel the service, because they say you owe them money already. So they keep charging... forever!
