Where in Costa del Sol

  • How long is long?! I suppose it depends where the villa is, I would say the walk to the marina from the start of the promenade is maybe a mile and a half/two miles. If I remember rightly a lot of the villas were closer to Torre del Mar than that. Yes there are lots of bars/beach bars along the way. Our hotel was at the very beginning of the promenade so that probably made the walk seem longer!! Nevertheless, it is a lovely, flat walk and traffic free. It's a lovely big beach too and both the promenade and beach are very well maintained.

I'd heartily recommend Fuengirola. We have an apartment there, but recommend the Hostal Italia to friends. Small, family-run hotel just of the main square with lift, spotless and with modern decor. Restaurante Salamanca opposite does a great three-course meal for 9 euros, including half a bottle of wine per person! Lots of other cheap and good places to eat nearby.

Hi, i went to Benalmadena a couple of months ago, but we went into Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Nerja. I think Torremolinos and Fuengirola were very action packed and lots going on, Benalmadena was lovely on the front with the marina and fish restaurants etc.
Sorry but i didn't rate Nerja, a bit too boring for me, but i am in my 20's so do look for a bit of action lol.
If i was going to go back to the Costa Del Sol i would probably pick Torremolinos, yes its tacky but lots of fun and you will not be bored, also an excellent water park.

Have fun where ever you end up.:D
