Bought iPhone 3GS 3 weeks ago - now have to sell

Thats right,
Bought the iPhone 3GS 3 weeks ago on an 18 month deal with o2.
Have been offered a job abroad which I'm going to accept.
Is my only option to sell the handset on ebay and use the money to pay off the contract?
Where did you buy it? If in the shop - then I think that is your only option.
If on-line I think you have 14 days cooling off period during which you can return it.
Check the T&C.0 -
Yes that's the only option you have. Sell the handset and pay some of the contract off.
The best way to go around it is to leave the contract running if possible and downgrade your tariff after 9 months, until at it's lowest.0 -
If you must sell to recover funds (shame great piece of kit - that may be useful whilst away anyhow) and If you aren't getting big discount in "paying off early" remember the o2 contract has some good features that might be useful whilst away ( even if not with an iphone)
as on most contracts
- incoming texts free
- sending texts back to UK - if you have an allowance ( not unlimited) texts to Uk are usually charged at x4 from the allowance rather than at a financial cost
- Many contracts ( mainly if over 600 mins ) have ITS , which means incoming and outgoing calls are often much cheaper than other UK mobiles
- they offer unlimited incoming calls in some countries on the my country option.
Now not all will apply to you- but some might .. and if you are paying for it already ??Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
You can transfer contracts to a 3rd party, provided they pass the credit check - so maybe some options here?“Official Company Representative

Unsure how other networks handle this but with o2, the name of the account holder can not be changed at all..0
