What do I need for 2 cats joining the family?

I've tried a huge range of cheaper biscuits for my 3 cats from most of the supermarkets and a few dregs always get left in the cat bowls. With one exception. One that they actually like and eat is Purina Omega Tasty. I get 2Kg bags from Scats Country stores. Their favourite is the Chicken. This always gets polished off.
Cat Toys - waste of money with mine - they simply never played with them. But they love christmas decorations, wool, tape measures, cardboardboxes, and laundry baskets.
Cat Beds? - another waste of money with mine and have a couple festering in the garage, but they all love radiator beds and the foot of any of our beds0 -

Hes done this from being a kitten, yet his brother has never done it, hes much more reserved
So glad it's not just me, especially with the mad drool over hands. No catnip involved and they just seem to go nuts and dribble for England. Both of mine do this but why does this happen? I'm not worried but just want to know. I guess it's because they're really happy and content and love the attention, in which case I'm very proud that they are so happy - a.lot.of.the.time! I've had to ban them from all items of furniture as the drool is not cute. (Like they pay any attention to me ) My boy cat is like a tap, and my girl is moody(!) and only drools sometimes (also through the nose!!) They drool, and headbutt and it really is like they are intoxicated - on love?! I can also definitely say that their teeth are certainly not rotten but very healthy, with normal catty breath too.OGB - Queen of Bling baby...:A0 -
Our cat must be a member of this board. We've learnt not to buy things for her.
We bought her a lovely cat bed - she doesnt sleep or even go on it. She prefers an old towel over the top of an old pillow.
We bought her a scratching post - she doesnt use it, prefers the sample of carpet we got from a shop when we were thinking of laying new carpet, so we stuck this to a bit of wood. (its the sort of hard wearing carpet which reminds you of doormats)
We bought her toys - she looks at them in disgust and instead prefers to play with a bit of old washing line (which she brings to us when she wants to play then chases one end while you waft it round your head) and the plastic ring pulls out of the tetra-packs of juice. She plays fetch with these for about 30mins.
Its the OS life for her :rotfl:0 -
Any toys, beds, food that yours won't use or eat would probably be VERY appreciated at the local cat shelter or RSPCA centre
Anything my two have rejected usually ends up there and they are always well used and appreciated
On the other hand then my new addition to our home seems to like EVERYTHING and will merrily chew anything she can reach... that's what you get for adopting a GSD cross that's only about a year oldBut we love her to bits and she's worth every penny
But in true mse and os style then i will be making her liver treats instead of buying and she'll probably find herself eating a lot more human left overs than she bargained for
