Why not just go for Harrods and be done with it?

Lol nah, too posh. Plus I want to wander around the shop with one of those pricing guns - its like fantasy shopping! Personally I think House of Fraser is nearer so might be easier, but I'm really not all that bothered! Its not a consideration for several months yet obviously, will have to see which one of them has better prices/we prefer the design of things.

We did our wedding list through John Lewis. You can just select to receive vouchers so you don't have to decide which would be perfect for you guys for fitting out your new home.

Plus people can buy online, over the phone or in store.

I always think of HOF as just a large Denehams in drag!

I love the idea of wedding gift lists but just warning you in advance, a lot of our parents generation in Ireland view them as presumptious. I think this is silly and love getting a list myself as it takes so much hassle away but just so you know.

Also a lot of people in Ireland will want to give you money (and are quite generous, as I saw for my own wedding) so you might want to consider not putting the gift list in the Irish invites and getting money instead.

Just a thought but I have been to, on average, about 4 Irish weddings per year for the last 5 years and this is the general consensus. Out of all them weddings just one couple opted for the gift list and everyone moaned, excluding some of the younger people. Of course, NIM's family might be very different.

Lol! I do like John Lewis, but the nearest one is Newcastle. That said, I know they deliver down here. I'd rather people got things tbh - lots of pressies to open!

Would be more than happy with money from the Irish contingent ofc, will get NIMs advice. I just don't know what we'd do if they all gave us it in euros?!

Well John Lewis do free delivery down to Hartlepool so I suspect you should be easily covered. If I remember correctly.

Also JL you can set it up and see what people have given online.

I can understand why you would want to receive things, it must be great to have all the pressies. We got some pressies and it was lovely.

Just wanted to let you know but at the end of the day it's your day so who cares about a few moaners!

Lol! See thats the thing, we'll need all these things. However obviously money would also be handy since we can get things we need or pay it off the mortgage etc.
