Lol! I do like John Lewis, but the nearest one is Newcastle. That said, I know they deliver down here. I'd rather people got things tbh - lots of pressies to open!
Would be more than happy with money from the Irish contingent ofc, will get NIMs advice. I just don't know what we'd do if they all gave us it in euros?!
Yes yes, opening presents is nice but not exactly practical for the irish contingent. And I doubt any of them would give us it in Euros, except maybe mum to try get us back to Ireland.clearmydebts wrote: »Maybe you could leave the list out of the Irish invites and get the money instead. I'm sure most Irish people will give you money as they know you won't be able to carry items/presents back with you. The lowest amount people would give for a full day invite is €150 and most relatives give about €250.
Did they give in Euro or Sterling CMD? And if thats the average then SCORE.I like the dress, the sash is a nice touch.
I think putting the list in the English peoples invites and not in the Irish is a good idea. Have to ask NIM what his family would respond to best.
I'd be iffy about that as if one side got the list and not the other then one side found out they had different to the other there could potentially be issues. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -

We got a mixture of euros and sterling but we were happy with the euros as the wedding was in Barcelona and we were able to pay off a lot of wedding things with the euros and then saved our own money that way. I imagine most people would give sterling.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

It is a bit of a minefield this wedding stuff isn't it! Maybe do a list and give them the choice to give you money.0

I like the DOTD, I can see you having a really vintage style wedding, all lace and tea roses!
Sounds perfect Birdie! Not 'manly' enough though I fear so can't see me getting it! I am marrying a pan who wants a whole animal, head and all, served up for dinner don't forget!
The English will need a list though. It's not traditional here to give money, and if they don't get a list we'll have 12 toasters, a teapot and a large assortment of vases in styles we hate. Would prefer the money though
Its an Alfred Angelo dress, I do definitely favour the lace, vintage style dress.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I don't like it when men come wading in to 'our' wedding planning saying it's not 'Manly Enough'! Like any men actually notice and think, 'Eugh... a bit girly isn't it?'... no! It's the ladies saying, 'Oooh, what pretty flowers and look and well they're co-ordinated with the place settings!'. They should just leave it to us!
I got home to 3 (count 'em! 3!) parcels today! Woot! I've got a wild west themed tablecloth and napkins for the party and a mini top hat fascinator and a garter with a gun to go with my saloon girl costume when I get around to ordering it! This is the hat, so cool!:
This is the costume I *think* I'm going to order. I'm going to ask Mum to make a longer underskirt to cover my modesty if it's really really short!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Quick off the mark this morning but...DOTD . Loving the little colour chart you can play with too!
All excited hoping and praying the ring arrives today, and DHL aren't monkeys again who claim our address doesn't exist, and the ring has to go live in their depot for the weekend.
I'm going crazy, the CD poolie sent has vanished from its envelope so I can't try it! I'm going to have a tidy-up blitz before we go to the spa to try to find it.
And because I'm generous, HOTD. This is my perfect house, right size, amazing village, needs work doing to it so we could make it ours, likely to have a huge huge garden, only one issue - its a rental not a sale! I don't know who would rent it in that state though. If that ever goes up for sale for less than £250,000 I will beg borrow lie or steal to get it, the houses in that village on that part of the street usually come in at £500,000 all done up though so doubt it will ever be for sale so cheap.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
