He was abusive, and I think he started a relationship with my stepmum while he was still with my Mum, but this is what my Mum says, I'm not brave enough yet to ask my Dad his side of the story! Plus, the two sides of my family have never really got on. I kinda think that my Dad's side thinks they are better than everyone else. They can give off that feeling anyway!

Oh awful, it's horrible being piggy in the middle I know. My mam died last year so that sort of solved that problem for me, but my friend's parents fight like cat and dog 25 years on (!) and she's going to get married abroad just the two of them.

Sorry about your Mum Tete. Life's too short to spend it arguing. But they don't seem to get that. You'd think parents would be able to stop arguing for their kids' sake but obviously not! Your friend has the right idea. :rolleyes:

My friends got married (just the 2 of them) in Las Vegas 4 years ago because they have a fragmented family. They had a party when they got home and she got to wear the wedding dress twice.

Zig - I would defo ask whoever you want. They should be able to pull themselves together for 1 day. It is quite an emotional day so you might want to have your nearest and dearest there. I love the 2nd dress you have on here!

Sorry to hear about your Mum Tete. I can't imagine how hard that would have been for you.

I hope my OH isn't joking too! Just seems a bit odd that he would tell me though but I guess it isn't that much of a surprise when we have been talking about it for the last 4 years...

Mine and OHs family have never met so that would be weird, sure it would all be fine though. Our families alone will make up quite a lot of people, so ours will probably end up being quite good. We were listening to magic (radio station) and arguing over our first dance song last night haha.

He better propose or there will be a lot of MSE ladies and gents coming to your house to read him the riot act!

What you should do now is refuse to engage in any wedding discussions until he puts the ring on your finger. That will put the wind up him!!!! Lol!

I can understand why you're wanting to get married abroad on your own Zig. You don't want that kind of hassle on your Wedding, they might say they'll be nice for your sake but you'll be constantly watching over everyone to keep things netural. It's so romantic running off to get married too!
