Onetel Walk-n-Talk Card new connection charges

I have had a Telco (now taken over by Onetel) Walk-n-Talk card for several years and yesterday I received a letter from Onetel enclosing a new card which takes effect on May 1st. What shocked me is that they have introduced a 15p connection charge for calls made from UK landlines which now makes the card an expensive way to make personal phone calls from work. Does anyone know of alternative calling cards that are not expensive as I'm planning to cut this one up and send it back to them with a suitable covering letter telling them where they can put it :-)

Have a look at http://www.firsttele.com/residential/residential-topupandtalk.htm its a prepaid service access is via an 0800 number so your work wont get the hump.
Another possibility if you are using a direct line out you could register it with https://www.1899.com but theirs the security aspect if someone else picks this up.0 -

Are these not also prepaid services, and apart from Topupnow you have to access them via a UK Geographical Landline Number which op wants to avoid.0 -
Someone else at work suggested them so that's what I'll probably switch to. I work for a large company so my desk number, although it has it's own inbound number sends outgoing calls go via a switchboard so I can't register my desk number with anyone like call18866, call1899 etc,. I use those already at home but this is for calls from work so a calling card with an o800 access number is what I'm after.hurrah wrote:Have a look at http://www.firsttele.com/residential/residential-topupandtalk.htm its a prepaid service access is via an 0800 number so your work wont get the hump.
