  • Hi, i got some bands from my local 99p shop, hope your lucky and could get some in there. If i go on a long trip i use tablets, i did take stugeron on the recommendation of pharmacist but found they made me too sleepy, i now use boots own brand which make me slightly sleepy but now enought o ruin my trips. Also about half the price of stugeron.

Best travel sickness preventative - 'Sealegs' tablets from chemist. They are good because one dose lasts 24 hours. I had these a few years ago in the USA where they are 'Bonine' as I remember, and was pleased to be able to get the same thing here, as 'Sealegs'. \

That's very useful to know re them lasting 24 hours.

My sons get travel sick and I've always used Joyrides and found them effective. Flying back from the US last year, they each had a tablet before leaving the hotel to travel back to the airport and then another just before we were supposed to take off. However we were then delayed by three hours and had to sit on a hot plane for all of that time and by the time we were coming in to land in the UK - after an incredibly turbulent flight - I think they'd worn off and they'd had their max dose for 24 hours. Subsequently my youngest threw up everywhere just as we landed - oh how easy it was to get a flight attendant to bring me some water for him and wipes while the seatbelt sign was on.

I found a lot of the UK travel sickness tablets give me a dry throat and tiredness..

    Have never tried the bands..

I also carry ginger biscuits, chewing gum and peppermint essential oil to sniff! A bland meal beforehand helps.

I found "Sealegs" perfect as well, they last ages and they don't make me sleepy.

Anything with ginger, however, just makes matters worse :(
