travel sickness

I shall shortly be going overnight on a ferry. I am a bad traveller and have been advised to buy some travel sickness bands. Does anyone have experience of these, and where can I get they inexpensively? please

I've used these a lot (I used to go sailing), and they do work. Any good chemist should have them, so you could try Boots etc. However, they are usually about £7 from the chemist - but Ebay sell them much cheaper! As they are just stretchy bands not medicines, I don't think I would have any concerns about buying them from Ebay.

I did a search of Ebay - see results here:

You need 2 bands (one for each wrist), and they last for years by the way.

    Hope this helps!
  • You can also buy them in poundland, enjoy your break.

  • Cinnarezine tablets from boots, about £3.00 per packet. Fab! I was the worlds worst traveller, tried all sorts, recommended these by a friend, and I've never looked back.

I tried the bands - did nothing for me. Go for the tablets.

I know you said bands, but if you do decide on tablets I (well my sister and her family did too) used Stugeron tablets last year and they worked really well. We went on a cruise and a couple of nights were rather rough (and the small bathrooms really didn't help when we had a lot of movement!)

Personally I find the tablets make me worse as they make me very woosey, particulary Sturgeon....

The bands have helped me for years, even when I have that queesy feeling after you stop moving....

I would get the bands and have some tablets as back up if the bands don't work...
  • Hi, I've just checked and Stugeron is the brand name for cinnarizine, so come highly recommended! Hth

I've used the bands, they were no help at all. The tablets however were wonderful, no bad side effects and didn't feel sick at all!

I agree, the bands did nothing for me at all. I tried Stugeron tablets last time I went on a long haul flight and I didn't get any sickness/nausea at all, nor did I get the drowsy side effect.

Seems like taking some form of ginger tablets / capsules a week or so before you travel can help.

Am going on a cruise for the first time at the weekend so am tempted to buy some quick, just in case!!
