How can I get over being so tongue tied?!

Whoops - also forgot my failsafe question to inspire conversation:
'What would you rather be a hand or a foot' or something similarly stupid - it's not important what the answer is, more that it provokes discussion which is lighthearted and silly! Just think of my lucky lucky husband to have me yammering on about all this stuff constantly...0 -
Thanks guys, some good advice here, just need to take deep breaths and try and remember them! I'm not exactly a shy person but I just get that mind-blank stupid feeling when I'm around him!
I like the idea about 'doing something' rather than just sitting in a pub, think I'll just suggest we go and do something the next time we go out...
That'll end up being my next question - what can I do for a date?? lol

HI, so nice to hear that you've met someone and are getting on well. I can totally empathise with you as I end up doing exactly what you describe if I'm at a party or somewhere telling a story and suddenly find myself the centre of the whole group's attention with 6 pairs of eyes all looking at me!
The only advice I can really give is to breathe - pause between sentences to gather your thoughts, and this will give him the opportunity to interject or ask questions too.
I second what bogof_babe says about going for a walk, my OH and I go walking quite a bit and conversation always flows loads more easily than in the pub!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Thanks,
We are going to see a film tomorrow night so that should be a good conversation starter... I'm just never like this I can hardly believe it!
And he's so lovely as well, and saying he really likes me etc, but because of the past and stuff I have this feeling in the back of my head that he's winding me up or having some sort of joke at my expense, I know that sounds silly.

He's probably wearing his heart on his sleeve, make the most of it. My OH used to be like that all the time when we first met and I told him off because it made me feel uncomfortable when we hardly knew each other, now two years down the line I just get called things like 'pickled onion head' :rolleyes:Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
