    Welcome Madmayfly

Kassey well done on painting your living room – what colours did you do it in?

Embb, hope you are ok, it sounds kinda terrifying but also kinda exciting. Sad for the people who’s business it was tho

Hugs Jinky, I’m sure you will start feeling better in a while when the meds settle down

I WANT CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really fed up with this healthy eating milarky - I've been trying so hard this week and not lost any weight at all and I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning and if I've not lost anything I'm going to have the weekend off to eat bad stuff. We are going to Oxford Sunday and Monday so I'm going to have cake and hot chocolate with cream. SO THERE! :p

We only go to costco about 3 times a year so I do tend to stock up! They already have all the Christmas decorations in!
Don't know why that's surprising, it is August after all! I have a friend who goes to Costco and she comes back with the most amazing cakes, maybe I should make a trip there. Where is it anyway?

    Evening all,

Congratulations to Jennybee on that fantastic GCSE result!

Hugs for Natty on the loss of lodgercat - we're here if you need us.

Hugs for LadyL - I'm glad you managed to get your medication adjusted. I've got 3 really good magazines for you when you're up to visitors (if you like I could just drop them in if you're not up to visitors) and when I don't have to go into school - have to go again on Tuesday as we still didn't get everything done, and we're probably having a planning meeting at my house on Sunday night too.

Dolly how is your knee today?

How are you today Zoe? Have you told Jase yet?

Congratulations to Boddy on finishing your last day.

Hugs for Jinky - I know what the side effects feel like - hope the nausea passes soon. PM me if you want to chat.

All this talk of shoes and trainers is making me wonder if I should get some MBTs too - I need a new pair of trainers, but am I right in thinking they are quite expensive?

Managed to do the following at school today:
    • Put up a border,
    • Put up some more bits on my tudor display only to be told when I'd finished that they need to be stapled as head doesn't like drawing pins (I'd even spent ages making sure the colours matched)
    • Removed all of the sticky labels off the pegs using a tip I saw on How Clean is Your House? last night (used WD40 equivalent)
    • Found the missing drawers from my drawer units
    • Laminated, cut out and stuck on some drawer labels
    • Moved one of the cupboards
    • Looked at some old planning folders to give myself and idea of the work they will be doing
    • Discussed a child from my class who I'm worried about with another teacher who has been teaching for 37 years and who has taught this boy before (she gave good advice)
Think that's it - but we also had lunch in the middle of that too.

Have just done the HH something for yourself - watched Neighbours. Have meal-planned for next week and written a shopping list, whilst using price comparisons to get the best deals.
Replied to a kind lady who responded to my freecycle post asking for cushions and beanbags for my book corner (I'm collecting 6 cushions from her tomorrow but they don't have covers so need to find out how big they are then buy some).

We are going to Oxford Sunday and Monday so I'm going to have cake and hot chocolate with cream. SO THERE! :p

The trick for me is making sure I stick to the one slice and not the whole cake :o. Make sure you do some extra walking afterwards and above all don't beat yourself up about it. Far better to go and have a slice as treat as part of your weekend away than to have a whole cake in the fridge 'talking' to you .

Sexymouse the MBTs are painfully expensive (have a look on John Lewis) although you can sometimes get the old colours more cheaply on Amazon, etc.

LL - glad the meds are helping. My poor FIL has just had to have his upped too so I do really sympathise.

Not a lot done again today although I have been to work this morning. Off now till Thursday next week when the boys go back to school. I have done the DW, WM and TD but that is it. A busy weekend of DIY ahead and then cleaning up the resulting mess next week .

Zara - I will join you and get the kitchen sorted before I put the boys to bed.

Hello everyone, having a break while I eat tea, forgot to eat so far today so starving, sorry nothing hm just nasty fatty fish shop food (well ok it's not nasty it's lovely :D )

Valli, thanks, guess I can guess it's me you don't envy lol, The IT Crowd, something I have never heard of....might have to look it up.
LL I agree with Triker, sending you loads of hugs honey
greenbee my friend makes cakes and she uses the handle part of 3 dinner knives for making them the right thickness, would you not have something similar? PS your cakes look brilliant!!!
Tia, is she happy? Is she sleeping ok? Well there you go, until someone invents a titty meter you will have to just know she's a happy little lovely bundle. Give her an extra squishy hug from me x
Triker thank you, I don't feel organised.....in fact today I couldn't remember what day/month/year it was but it seems to be coming together ok ish.
Penny pleased your DD made her decision, such a difficult but life changing one to make, she will be the Children's Laureate before you know it :)
embb not good news about your boss but maybe more work and dosh for you if it's all direct for you! My friend has just gone self employed as a cleaner and said her liability insurance isn't bad at all, just the paperwork you need to really be strict with yourself about! Will you be advertising for more work?
pigpen, if he wants them longer is he responsible enough to take care of what they need doing/buying? Or is he as useless as my OH?
Jennybee very well done, especially managing it with LO, super star!
Toots, this week I have done all the days in the caravan, all 5 days in the new house and sweet **** all here :rotfl: can I have 5 for the other 2 and just ignore the rest ? :D Thanks you know what I am like for food hoarding :o but I had to get takeaway as all that is left in the freezer is fruit and icecream :rotfl:

Rearranged the sofas 3 times to see if we could find a better way to have them, think we have settled on it now until we get new sofas (and save for them of course) Packed loads of DS1s books took him one book case over, he will need another one but meant I could put books on them then bring the boxes back to refill, took some of his toy boxes over too.

DP actually vacuumed the boys rooms in both houses today, I was NEARLY sarcastic was going to ask if I should take photographic evidence but instead I resisted and just said thank you. Oh and he's FINALLY agreed that we need another shed, !!!!!! we're moving from a house with a garage and 2 sheds to a house with one shed.....just ain't going to work honey...but he's realised and I went to Homebase (15% off today) for paint and seen a shed the size we need for £109 so ordered one,£92.65 works out at so £57.34 cheaper than the one I was going to order from Argos.

Manager/owner of the garage phoned today, he wanted a new settlement figure sending for the car and claims he sent a cheque they haven't cashed, yeah right! Anyway that's been sent, we've paid 2 payments and there is about £60 in interest or something added, I am hoping he will refund what we have paid off without an arguement not just the difference in settlement-now or I will get very annoyed!

Other flying, well that's another 4 washer loads done, I have stuff to catch up on aswell as hols laundry so it's a rather large mountain, weather being on/off isn't helping! Unsure if I should take more boxes over or just fill more this evening, suppose I need some bin bags for packing clothes in and there is some at the new house which will save me buying more....hmmmm....decisions. It's only because the boys are driving me insane that is making me not want to go over, this was so much easier 2 years ago when they were at school! I've managed to pull my neck now, probably protecting my back, I am just dropping to bits :rotfl: think I need some super glue.

**Is off to google Vallis DVD and fitflops, !!!!!! is a fitflop....I think I know what an MBT is....not a fashion person really :o **

**Edit to add - HOW MUCH FOR A PAIR OF FUPPING FLIPFLOPS!!!! I nearly flopped over when I seen the price. **sticks with £6 Fox flipflops....** I do like the look of Flyflots which are cheaper....
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

sexymouse.MBTs are really expensive unless you can get them in a sale. I only got mine as a BIG pressie for a specila b'day in a sale at John Lewis, would normally have got a box of choccies.
Lil_me I hope the move is going okay.

I am going to glue the sole back on my slippers and forget all about fitflops:) I am still trying not to spend any money except on absolute necessaties.

We are going to Oxford Sunday and Monday so I'm going to have cake and hot chocolate with cream. SO THERE! :p

Wave as you come past Rosepink....we're just south of Oxford!!

I've not managed to do much this week - seemed to fill all the days up with visits/visitors again. Mental note: must learn to say 'no' a bit more....

Still, I finished Monday's list, all bar one thing, did my dailies every day, cleaned and reorganised the bathroom, and managed to get a bit of order in my kitchen. Honestly, there's so much to do, but DD is at school next week so I'm hoping to work around the baby's naps and get a load more done. We moved in here 15 months ago and have basically remained in chaos since then - I suppose the move completely knocked the energy out of me, then I fell pregnant a month later and it's only now I'm starting to get some kind of motivation. Still, at least it isn't dirty, just untidy/disorganised.

Anyway, I'm off now to finish DDs cardigan - just the front shaping to do and sewing up - and to have a nice glass of wine whilst I watch the Tudors!

Haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread (what's new?!) but wanted to send hugs to anyone who needs/wants one, and kicks up the backside (if anyone's requested one!). Hope you have a great weekend all....

    Take care
